Today, we're going to take a look at the replacement Easy-Pull Power Cord for the Brake Buddy Classic and Select Supplemental Braking Systems. This part will replace the easy-pull power chord on the Brake Buddy systems. It's designed to fit the Classic II, the Classic III, the Select II and the Select III systems. All those systems, we do sell separately on our website. This harness will plug into the connector below your dash and then into your breaking system and when connected, the harness carries both power and breakaway functions in a single cord.Has the large grip ring on both ends with the wide handle. Makes it very easy to hold while you're connecting and disconnecting the actuator all without ripping your connectors or pulling on any wires.
The cord will connect your portable braking system to the dash mount connector installed in your tow car to run 12 volt power and the plugs you can see will be marked. The black one say, "dash," so that plugs into the dash mount unit and the gray one says, "Brake Buddy." That'll plug into your Brake Buddy system. The length between the plugs, the cord length is about 30 inches long, but that should do it for the review on the replacement Easy-Pull Power Cord for the Brake Buddy Classic and Select Supplemental Braking Systems.
Works perfectly. The one that came with the brake buddy got damaged when stored in the RV. This was a simple plug and play and is the OEM part exactly. No issues at all. We don't like to travel anywhere without the Brake Buddy, so this is a simple but huge part of that working.
This is my third cable, they all become loose and I constantly have to adjust the pin gap. What I dont need is ot falling out on a bumpy road and the the brake buddy is useless
The pins break because of continuous adjusting the gap. But I have no choice. I can afford the better set up. Please tell Hopkins to design a better and safer cord.
You guys have been great. Hopkins not so much. I sure you already know that a cord fell out when our jeep broke loose and ran ito the back of us the continued in to the on coming traffic and hit a car head on.

Exactly what I needed
This review is for the product, not etrailer's performance. Etrailer sent a replacement cable right away. The original Easy Pull cable that came with the Brake Buddy and replacement cable sent afterward, both have poor quality connector pins. Once the Brake Buddy is fully set up, jiggling the cable causes the brake system to disconnect & bleed out the air system & then go through the restart cycle all over. After testing the second bad cable, I ordered two inexpensive 4-way cables and spliced them together, fixing the problem.
Perfect fit for my Select ii braking system. After several years use the dash connector wiring failed, probably due to bending and curving during hookup, causing intermittent power failures of the brake. As always etrailer had what I needed in stock and at a great price with super quick same day shipping.
They had the parts I needed at an affordable price. Carol was fantastic when I call to check the status of my order and offered to follow-up on the order if it wasn't going to be filled timely. While she didn't have to follow-up, her attention to customer needs and focus on my satisfaction was refreshing to say the least. Great job Carol!

The Brake buddy replacement cord was as described, it shipped quickly, and arrived on time. We were able to continue on our RV travels with a working Brake buddy.
Too soon to say. I installed a Brake in no Buddy before our last trip, after one week the cable became intermittent and had a bad connection inside. It was difficult for the remaining 4 weeks. This is the replacement. I am hoping it will be fine.

AS always you guys came through! The manufacturer Hopkins/Brake Buddy was out of stock on this item for the last 6 months. I should have tried Etrailer first, but when I did you had what I needed.
